Haryana's farmers are renowned nationwide for their hard work and flourishing crops. However, for the farmers of Gatauli village, under Julana tehsil in Jind district, their land had been a source of deep anguish for the past 40 years. Due to lack of drainage facilities, rain and floodwater would accumulate in the fields every year.
The conditions were so dire that approximately 1000 acres of extremely fertile agricultural land in the village had been waterlogged for 35-40 years. According to farmers, after 2002, regular cultivation in these fields became almost impossible. What were once fields filled with crops had now turned into a terrifying swamp. Farmers owning 15-15 acres of land were forced to buy grain from the market to feed their families and were compelled to work as daily wage laborers.
40 Years of Administrative Apathy
The farmers of Gatauli did not silently endure this devastation. Over the past 40 years, the village panchayat knocked on the doors of every government, every minister, and every administrative official. They continuously submitted prayer petitions requesting arrangements for water drainage so they could cultivate their ancestral land.
However, red tape only gave them disappointment. According to farmers, in 40 years, the administration did not solve their problem. The system had completely ignored 1000 acres of land and hundreds of families dependent on it.
Village panchayat approached every government and official but received no solution to the waterlogging problem.
Regular cultivation in waterlogged fields became almost impossible, forcing farmers to buy grain from markets.
Village panchayat approached Satlok Ashram under 'Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan' (Phase 2).
Modern Survey and Miracle of 'Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan'
When the government machinery completely failed, the Gatauli panchayat turned to Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj's Satlok Ashram as a last hope. They presented their waterlogging problem under the 'Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan' (Phase 2) being run by Guru Ji.
What happened next amazed the entire Jind district. What governments couldn't do in 40 years, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj's special survey team accomplished within just 1.5 hours of the panchayat's application. The team visited the village, assessed the waterlogging situation, determined the drainage route, and immediately sent their report to the ashram.
4000 Feet of Hope Arrives in the Village
As soon as the report was received, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj issued an order for historic assistance. Within just 2 days of the application, a massive convoy of trucks reached the borders of Gatauli village. These trucks were loaded with a 4000-foot-long, 8-inch heavy-duty pipeline.
This series of assistance was not limited to just pipes. Along with the pipes, all materials including Fevicol, air valves, SR bands, nuts-bolts, and fittings were provided completely free of cost. Additionally, a heavy-duty 20 HP motor was also provided to quickly expel water, which would be installed in the village as soon as the pipes were buried underground.
Celebration and Grand Welcome in the Village
As soon as the relief materials arrived in the village, Diwali-like celebrations began in Gatauli. Hundreds of villagers and farmers stood with flowers and garlands at the village entrance. Tractor lines were formed, and with slogans, they grandly welcomed this assistance from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.
An elder from the village, Jasbir Ji, emotionally shared a great truth. He said that there was a time when some people in the village, out of ignorance, opposed Sant Ji, but today when governments failed and Guru Ji ended 40 years of pain in just 2 days, the entire village is laying flowers in his welcome. The gram panchayat has resolved to bury these pipes underground within 5-7 days. Gatauli today bears witness that only a true saint can selflessly uplift society.
Conclusion: A Miracle of Selfless Service
The transformation of Gatauli village from a waterlogged wasteland to a hopeful agricultural community stands as a testament to the power of selfless spiritual service. While administrative systems failed for four decades, the intervention under Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj's guidance demonstrates how compassionate action can bring immediate and transformative relief to suffering communities. This is not merely a story of infrastructure provision but of restoring dignity, livelihoods, and hope to hundreds of farming families who had nearly given up on their ancestral lands.
