Due to lack of drainage facilities, rain and floodwater would accumulate in the fields every year. The conditions were so dire that approximately 1000 acres of extremely fertile agricultural land in the village had been waterlogged for 35-40 years. According to farmers, after 2002, regular cultivation in these fields became almost impossible. What were once fields filled with crops had now turned into a terrifying swamp.
